My favorite TED

A virtual choir of 2,000 voices

10 Mar , 2015

I signed for the first TED event in my life, which will take place on March 17 in Timisoara. Ted Live Simulcast is an event that is not going be like the others TED, with  speeches on stage, but it will be live broadcasts from Canada. Over 2,000 people have joined Facebook, quite a lot to say for a live transmission, which also costs somewhere around 50 euros. I do not know where it will take place the event, in the city mall or in Public Union Square, but for sure on the 17th I will be there.

I watched some TED posts on the event facebook page and one surprised me with the mix of innovation, technology and art promoted by Eric Whitacre. In a moving and madly viral video last year, composer Eric Whitacre led a virtual choir of singers from around the world. He talks through the creative challenges of making music powered by YouTube, and unveils the first 2 minutes of his new work, “Sleep,” with a video choir of 2,052. Enjoy:
